The Florida Association for the Study of Headache and Neurological Disorders (FLASHneuro) was formed in 1989 and continues to serve, and educate its members about Headache and Neurological Disorders. The Society began its service as the Florida Association for the Study of Headache and added to its name a few years later to be called the Florida Association for the Study of Headache and Neurological Disorders to better reflect the organization's mission and purpose.
The Society held its firs Annual 21st Century Neurology course in 1989 that continues to the present day. The courses were developed to educate practicing physicians about the clinical advances in headache and neurological disorders to improve patient care. The Neurology Monthly Conference, now called the Neurology Monthly Series, was developed to address the specific specialty educational needs of the neurologist member about the advances in headache and neurological disorders; which was added in 2003.
The 21st Century Neurology annual live activity continues to be a successful practicing physician course focused on providing practical, clinical, evidence-based information on the diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients with headache and neurological disorders. Education continues to be provided in didactic, case-based, evidence-based and panel formats.
Education continues to be the core of the Florida Association for the Study of Headache and Neurological Disorders mission and purpose; with the goal of improving the lives of headache sufferers and those with neurological disorders.
